Channel Provider Setup in RezExpert

Overview

This document provides instructions for setting up the Channel Provider by inputting your supplied Channel Provider number into RezExpert. RezExpert connects to multiple Channel Managers such as RezChannel, Siteminder, TXA, etc.

Prerequisites

  • Contact DigitalRez to enable the Channel settings to integrate your Channel into RezExpert.

Steps

Location

  1. Click on a Menu button and select "Channel Setup" within the Main tab.

  1. Your RezExpert technical support member will have entered your Channel Provider details.

Inventory Settings

  • Inventory Start Day: Acts like the Booking Rule - Minimum Days in Advance.
  • Value = 0 allows customers to book to arrive today; adjust if a minimum number of days is required.
  • Inventory Last Day: Acts like the Booking Rule - Maximum Days in Advance.
  • By default, Channel Providers allow 365 days in advance.

Text Sections

Depending on the Channel Provider enabled, text sections are available to enter business text for the selected areas within the Channel Provider:

  • Tax Invoice Message
  • Booking Terms
  • Conditions of Use

Codes

  • The Codes tab contains a list of all the Unit Types. Unit Types with applicable codes entered will be mapped to the Channel Manager.
  • If the time period is set, the rates will also be relayed to the Channel Manager.

Rate Plans

  • The Rate Plans tab allows you to control/map the rates from RezExpert to the Channel Manager.
  • By default, it shows the current year but can review upcoming years by modifying the year option at the bottom.
  • Based on the Units mapped from the Codes section, the Unit Types will be listed.
  • By clicking on the images to the left of the Unit Type, a user can link/unlink the rates configured within RezExpert or manually manage the rates.
  • Linked rates pull from the selected Rate Group in RezExpert to the Channel Manager.
  • Unlinked rates need to be entered directly into the Rate Plan area if the Time Period is mapped or updated directly in the Channel Manager.

Buttons

  • Sync: Initiates synchronization between RezExpert and the Channel Manager to send/receive modifications since the last synchronization.
  • Fill: Allows updating multiple unlinked Unit Types with rates in bulk by selecting the Start Date, Unit Types, and entering the desired rate.

Add

  • Clicking the Add button provides a calendar to enter a manual rate change option for any unlinked Unit Types. Once added, set a custom rate for that start date.

Rules

  • The Rules tab allows you to set up and configure basic rules to map to the Channel Provider.

Rules:

  • Closed on Arrival: Restrict Arrivals on the selected date(s).
  • Closed to Departures: Restrict Departures on the selected date(s).
  • Minimum Length of Stay: Set the minimum stay requirement for the selected date(s).
  • Stop Sell: Restrict bookings on the selected date(s).
