Configuring Tax Settings for Unit Bookings

Overview

This issue occurs when taxes are not set to be inclusive in the tax field under the Tax Setup.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the navigation menu
  • Permissions to modify Tax Setup and Product Setup

Steps

  1. Navigate to Tax Setup:
    - Go to the Menu.
    - Click on the Setup tab.
    - Select Tax Setup.
  2. Configure Tax Settings:
    - Click on the specific tax in question.
    - If you want the price on the reservation to include the tax, select the box in the inclusive field.
    - Note: If your pricing is, for example, $48.00 plus tax, do not select the inclusive option.
  3. Apply Tax to Product Types:
    - Go to Menu > Setup > Product Setup.
    - In the Product Setup panel, click the box on the left next to reservation products.
    - Select the type you want to apply the tax to.
  4. Complete Change Control:
    - Ensure a change control is completed for the taxes to be applied to all products.

Troubleshooting

  • Verify that the inclusive option is correctly set based on your pricing requirements.
  • Ensure all relevant product types have the tax applied in the Product Setup panel.
  • Confirm that change control has been completed for the changes to take effect.
