Generating Credit Card Tokens via Public Payment

Overview

Card Blanche does not store a credit card token through the terminal. Tokens are only stored when entered from the system's API. You can utilize the Public Payment option to obtain a token for this card.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the Guest Folio for the reservation.
  • Email address of the cardholder.

Steps

  1. Access the Guest Folio for the reservation.
  2. Navigate to the Charges/Payments tab.
  3. Click on the Public Payment button.
    - In the Amount field, enter the amount as $0.
  4. Click the Submit button. This action will generate a unique link.
  5. To send the link to the cardholder, click on the Email button.
  6. By default, the system will auto-select the email associated with the client's information.
    - If you need to use an alternate email, select the second radio button.
  7. Enter the desired email address.
  8. Click Select to send the email with the generated link to the cardholder. This will enable them to enter their card details and create a token for future use.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure the email address entered is correct to avoid sending the link to the wrong recipient.
  • Verify that the amount entered is $0 to generate the link without processing a payment.
